2 N.J. workers shocked after ladder touches power lines

Two workers are hospitalized after an extension ladder they were using accidentally struck power lines in Margate on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
The men were unconscious when police were called to South Coolidge Avenue near the corner of Pacific Avenue at about 5:30 p.m., Margate police said.
Officers performed CPR on the workers, who were brought to an area hospital before being transferred to a Philadelphia hospital.
The men are employed by a roofing and siding company and were working at a private home, a police spokesman said.
An update on their conditions wasn’t immediately available Friday morning.
“Our thoughts are with the individuals impacted by this event,” Atlantic City Electric said in a statement on Thursday. “The safety of our customers, employees and contractors is always our top priority. We are working closely with local authorities and are continuing to investigate this matter.”
Editor’s note: This post has been updated to correct that the workers are not Atlantic City Electric employees.
